Fabric Textures for Godot
Browse 90 free seamless fabric textures optimized for Godot. Every texture downloads as PNG at 1024px, 2048px, or 4096px — power-of-two sizes that Godot handles efficiently with mipmapping and texture compression. All textures tile perfectly with no visible seams.
Fabric textures — denim, leather, woven cloth, carbon fiber, and scales — bring tactile realism to clothing, furniture, vehicle interiors, and any surface that should read as soft or woven. In Godot, import the PNG as a texture resource and apply it through a StandardMaterial3D or ShaderMaterial — set the UV repeat flags for seamless tiling across surfaces. All textures are procedurally generated and released under our royalty-free license — free for personal and commercial projects with no attribution required.

Workflow in Godot
In Godot, use the StandardMaterial3D's Albedo, Normal, Roughness, Metallic, and Height slots for standard PBR textures. Godot expects normal maps in OpenGL convention (Y-up) rather than DirectX (Y-down); many texture packs ship in DirectX convention and need the green channel inverted, which is a common source of wrong-looking normal maps. For translucent surfaces like ice or stained glass, use Transparency set to Alpha Scissor for sharp cutouts or Alpha for soft blending. The 2D engine also accepts these textures directly for backgrounds or sprites — they tile cleanly without needing extra repeat flags.
Quality notes for fabric textures
Fabric textures need to be tight enough that the weave reads. Extreme zoom reveals the underlying thread grid and breaks the illusion of continuous cloth. Target a UV scale that shows individual weave elements but keeps them small relative to the overall surface — typically threads should read at about 1 to 3 millimetres at expected viewing distance. Pair fabric textures with appropriate sheen values: matte fabrics like cotton at roughness 0.8+, silk or satin at roughness 0.2 to 0.4.
Godot × Fabric specifics
In Godot, fabric textures on character meshes benefit from the Transmission property in StandardMaterial3D — light passes through thin cloth like shirt sleeves or skirts, which Transmission simulates. A subtle transmission value (0.1 to 0.3) with a white tint gives the characteristic soft light edge on fabric that looks much more alive than opaque diffuse-only rendering.
