Where these textures fit
Material-tagged textures are the core inventory for any 3D visualisation workflow. The 170 textures on this page span every major physical surface category — wood, stone, metal, fabric, ceramic, glass — making this page a good starting point when you know you need a real-world material but are not yet sure of the exact type. Browse here to see what is available, then narrow down by specific tag, colour, or category from the texture detail pages you open.
Stylistic notes
Authentic material reads best when the texture is scaled correctly relative to the object it is applied to. A stone-textured wall needs stones at roughly 10 to 15 cm scale; a stone-textured floor works with smaller stones. For 3D renders, measure the real-world size of your surface and scale the UV mapping so that the texture's inherent scale matches. Every texture here was generated at a natural reference scale that reads correctly at typical surface sizes.
Practical tips
Lossless PNG format preserves every pixel perfectly, which matters for displacement maps and normal maps derived from the texture. If you plan to use a texture as a height or normal input in a PBR workflow, do not convert it to a lossy format like JPEG first — the compression artefacts propagate into the derived maps as visible ripples in the rendered surface.
